Bring Out the Boos 2022 Day 31: "Chucky's Halloween" (Inspired by "Child's Play") By: The Film Bartender     There have been numerous iconic slasher movie villains. Michael Myers, Freddy Krueger, Jason Voorhees, and Leatherface to just name a few. But none of them are like Chucky. The small killer doll is one of the most iconic characters in horror movie history, and has single-handedly spawned a successful franchise of films, a reboot, and even a new television series! On Halloween night, celebrate by drinking Chucky's Halloween, a beautiful mixed beverage inspired by the colors of the classic and original killer doll.      "Child's Play" is a 1988 slasher movie written by Don Mancini, John Lafia, and Tom Holland (no, not the young actor who has donned the Spider-Man tights), and directed by Holland. "Night of the Living Dead Cocktail" (BOTB 2022 Day 29) Recipe

Image
Bring Out the Boos 2022 Day 29: "Night of the Living Dead" By: The Film Bartender     Zombies are a major part of the horror genre today, and it seems like there wasn't a time where zombies haunted both adults and children every Halloween and in shows and films like "The Walking Dead". However, we can credit the major breakthrough of the zombie genre to one George A. Romero, who made the 1968 horror film, "Night of the Living Dead"! This movie brought zombies to the big screen, with a group of survivors holed up in a house with no way out. Even today, it's hard not to feel Romero's presence in every film project that involves zombies or the living dead. Because of that, the drink for Day 29 of my 2022 "Bring Out the Boos" series is inspired by the classic Romero film, adding a modern twist on the black and white genre mixed with a blood red color! Keep reading to find out more about this classic film and for the recipe of today'...

Bring Out the Boos 2022 Day 23: "Prom Queen" Cocktail (Inspired by "Carrie") By: The Film Bartender     One of the most famous horror shots ever was Carrie covered in pig's blood after winning prom queen. It is perhaps also the best moment in the movie as well, as she attacks the bullies and the rest of the student body after the humiliating stunt that her classmates pulled on her. It is both horrifying and reliving to watch, knowing the true antagonists of this movie finally got what they deserved.
